Oscar Fever!

Okay...i'll admit it...i've been dying to talk about this for sometime now. Well not dying but very very very interested. I have not seen one of the movies that have been nominated for the various academy awards. For example i've been dying to see 'Munich'(nominated for Best Picture) because it stars Eric Bana who I think is a pretty good actor. But unfortunately due to the very pissing off 'releasing-of-movies' in Dubai we have to wait until after the Oscars are over to watch these critically acclaimed movies. Some are lucky though. They are released early in the year so we have seen some. But for movies like "Goodnight and Goodluck"(Best Picture) and "Capote", we just have to rely on the fact that they will release in Dubai, but way later. I personally find this quite pissing off, I mean like the whole world saw Harry Potter first and only in the gulf did we wait for its release.
But anyway back to the movies. For those who do not the nominations I think I'll do you guys a favour. And The Nominees for 78th Academy Awards are...

Um.. well I don't see how anyone's going to see Brokeback, unless we download it, as the lovely UAE censors have banned it. There was a v. typical Khaleej Times report about it earlier,

im mortally wounded! thats just one of the reasons i want it to win! ;)
having seen the trailer umpteen number of times (thats the only thing i was able to download, dont ask why), it just tugged on the heart strings, and didnt u hear heath ledgers accent and voice in the movie? thats enough to make me wanna watch it! besides, its a brilliant story about love (no matter what kind) and ang lee's directing it! hello?
and to prove its a good movie, watch oprah prime time on sunday. i know its before physics, but itll be worth it!

Hi just wanted to say thumbs up to Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour. Joaquin is undoubtedly a top rated actor and i found it really interesting to see him on Oprah, because he said something I think really shows his ability as an actor. He said after a role like that he generally gets lost and confused and incredibly depressed because he starts doubting who he is. That really goes to show his ability to just dive into a part completely and absorb everything of the person he's portraying. It really made me respect him as an actor.
Philip seymour i have seen in the past though he never really blew me away. Good actor, sure but that was it. i saw him in Patch Adams and while that movie is very near to being one of the best i've ever seen, he didn't really have me in awe. Sure his role was small but then so was Cuba Gooding in Jerry Maguire! anyway "toodles"!
